Operations Manager

Trinity Energy Group is currently seeking self-motivated and energetic individual to join our team as an Operations Manager in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Reporting to the General/Construction Manager, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall operation, safety, and productivity of Trinity’s operations on Cape Breton Island. The successful applicant will be hands-on with site crews and will assist with the installation and application of product when required. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Long term planning of total operations, projects and completing required estimates
  • Hiring, training, developing, directing, promoting, and managing staff with support of General Manager
  • Instilling strong commitment to customer service excellence
  • Supporting Forepersons and Labourers to resolve concerns and issues
  • Supporting and monitoring continuous improvement efforts
  • Performing annual performance evaluations for direct reports and approving all direct report employees’ performance appraisals with the management team
  • Continually looking for new and better ways to provide superb service to our customers and clients
  • Organizing, coordinating, and supporting all departments for a safe productive workplace
  • Collaboration with the General Manager as member of the local management team
  • Overall maintenance and predictive/preventive measures to ensure continual production in the field
  • Completing site walks and estimates
  • Help maintain equipment with the remote assistance of our maintenance team

Other considerations and requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years construction related experience
  • The successful candidate will have experience in management and hands-on labour
  • Experience with union collaboration and working within a collective bargaining unit will be considered an asset
  • Direct experience with insulation materials including spray foam and cellulose will be considered an asset
  • Experience with energy efficient products will be considered an asset
  • Experience supervising and training employees
  • Proficiency with computers is essential
  • Planning and scheduling experience is required
  • Operation and minor maintenance and repair of equipment will be required; however, training will be provided.
  • Criminal record check & child abuse registry check must be provided upon hiring  No Exceptions
  • Clean driver abstract must be provided upon hiring  No Exceptions
  • Hours will fluctuate (full time + additional)
